چکیده

Rule Based Fuzzy Cognitive Maps (RBFCM) are proposed as an evolution of Fuzzy Causal Maps (FCM) that allow a more complete representation of cognition, since relations other than monotonic causality are made possible. Their structure is based on traditional fuzzy systems with feedback. The main problem to solve while trying to implement a RBFCM is the causal relation itself, since traditional fuzzy operations can not implement causality as it is usually defined in causal maps. This paper introduces Rule Based Fuzzy Cognitive Maps and presents a method to implement Fuzzy Causal Relations. This method allows a great flexibility in the addition and removal of concepts and links among concepts, and introduces a new Fuzzy Operation that simulates the “accumulative” property of causal relations – the Fuzzy Carry Accumulation (FCA).

Rule Based Fuzzy Cognitive Maps and Fuzzy Cognitive Maps – A Comparative Study

This paper focus on the comparison between Rule Based Fuzzy Cognitive Maps and Fuzzy Cognitive Maps. The paper shows FCM limitations to represent nonmonotonic non-symmetric causal relations, presents results that exhibit the stability of RBFCM in systems where FCM is not stable due to its non-fuzzy inherent nature and presents RBFCM potential to model qualitative real-world dynamic systems.

However, FCRb are subject to several restrictions that crea...

Ontology Agent Based Rule Base Fuzzy Cognitive Maps

This work proposes a framework for the design and development of Ontology Agents oriented to manage Rule Base Fuzzy Cognitive Maps (RBFCM). The approach takes into account the foundations of the Ontology Agents and the baseline of the Fuzzy Cognitive Maps depicted by Rule Bases. With these underlying elements, a specification of a conceptualization about the modeled domain is outcome. Moreover,...

Rule Based Fuzzy Cognitive Maps - Qualitative Systems Dynamics

This paper focuses on the Rule Based Fuzzy Cognitive Maps (RB-FCM) potential to model the dynamics of qualitative real-world systems that include feedback links. It presents a general overview of RB-FCM and proposes a set of possible concepts and relations. It also provides guidelines to introduce time as an important qualitative entity in cognitive maps.

A Dynamic Temporal Neuro Fuzzy Inference System for Mining Medical Databases

The analysis and representation of temporal data are becoming increasingly important in many areas of research and application. The existing Fuzzy Cognitive Maps (FCMs) are efficient modeling method for knowledge representation and fuzzy reasoning in time series analysis. In the past, it was used to represent a complex causal system as a collection of concepts and causal relationships among con...
